Fernie Trails & Ski Touring Club
The FTSTC was established in 1991 and constructed the public use Thunder Meadows Cabin in the Lizard Range in 1993. The FTSTC ’s primary mandate is for backcountry ski touring activities and summer trail enhancement. Members of this association have constructed and are maintaining many of the Lizard Range and Ridgemont mountain bike trails and work cooperatively with other user groups to enhance wilderness experiences in the Elk Valley. FTSTC works to represent the public on backcountry land use issues in the East Kootenay.

Fernie Mountain Bike Club
The Fernie Mountain Bike Club was established in 1990 as a loose-knit group of riders who met every Wednesday for a ride. Its mandate is to foster a sustainable cycling community. The Fernie Mountain Bike Clubs mission is to ensure the long term development and maintenance of a valuable community asset to be enjoyed by all styles and levels of riders.
